Niagra Falls 8/22 Thu

rainbow bridge

Long highway days in the saddle are boring to write about. When you camp late it's also hard to stay up late writing. The last two days of this trip I fell victim to being lazy and not writing anything.

We actually did visit Hey Cupcake and see Niagra Falls today. My first time viewing the falls from the Canadian side was late year with Nate. To me, the bakery and falls visit so similar to last year, I wasn't sure what to say about either.

One really nice difference is that Nates bike had zero issues on this trip. There was no fear of having to stop for 45 minutes every time we came to a stop in downtown traffic. So besides the congested traffic itself, it was all smooth going.

Leaving Lake Huron in the morning we started relatively close to Hey Cupcake in London, Ontario. The ride was nearly all back roads, through vast farmlands. Besides the slower speeds, my time was spent following Nate, and watching the differences in the Google Maps route, than the one my Garmin Zumo XT suggested. There was a Tim Hortons coffee & breakfast stop along the way.

We didn't spend a lot of time at Hey Cupcake, because he was just returning to work after a short vacation. So there was a lot of backlog to catch up on. We certainly added some productivity delays for the time spent visitiing.

Leaving London we headed for the falls. Just before the falls we drove through Hamilton, Ontario. Which triggered Nate to ask if either of us had watched Canada's Worst Drivers. We looked around but at the time didn't see anything to complain about. Apparently it's a TV show. Nate told us the format was excellent and that we should watch it.

Soon we reached the falls, parked and walked along the photogenic sidewalk to the main building. We looked around the store awhile, but all managed to not find anything we couldn't easily leave behind. A walk back to the bikes, to find no parking fines. As all of us had parked in one spot and purchased one parking pass with Tucker's plate number.

Back on the road we crossed over the Rainbow Bridge back into New York and started towards home. Nate and Tucker conspired to locate a hotel. Where Nate and I watched the first three episodes of Canada's Worst Drivers (CWD) season 12 from YouTube. He was correct, the format of CWD is very entertaining and educational. But that took up any time I would have to write... So you get this post typed a week later.
