Slaying Dragons (5/18/2023 Thu)

Bullet and I ate breakfast with others at the Ironhorse, then set out for a short rite to the Tail of the Dragon. I bought a few stickers and decided I must ride the dragon before putting them on my bike. So off I went for a slow out and back. It started out nice, but eventually I caught up to a really slow guy on a Harley. The entire middle of the 111 miles was spent falling back and catching up to them. Eventually they pulled off and I was able to get by and reach the end at a good pace. Spun around and headed back. Catching upto another set of Harleys on the way back. While riding at 20mph to get some room to run back up to them a sportbike came up behind me. I waved them by and then caught up again, just as they pulled off to let him by. I| made it by 3 of the 4 and the 4th guy waved me past as well. Not long after I was behind a park truck, and then we saw a cop car with a sports car pulled over. And I was back with my very empty fuel tank at the Tail of the Dragon. Pumped some gas and then we moved on like two old guys on bikes to find dinner and lunch.

Oddly it really was in that order. We went to the deli at Ingles supermarket and purchased subs for dinner that night. Then we went to a canyon area and had lunch overlooking the kayak and white water rafting river. it also happens to be on the Appilation Trail, so it was full of hikers. Great lunch.

Back at the Lodge we looked at bikes, then went to the fire and eventually ate our dinner. There was a rider meeting and more sitting around the fire talking with other riders. A little bit earlier end of night was had by all. And I posted another of Anne's blog posts without any writing of my own. | appear to be a bad weather/bored blogger. That's when I get more done.
