Oil Change (6/20/23 Tue)
This was my "rain day". Not really much rain, but cloudy here in Fairbanks. I went to a local motorcycle shop asked for a blinker and place to change oil. No blinker and the parts guy wasn't sure where I could change my oil. So I asked an older guy I had already talked to. He set me up out back with an oil pan and flat spot. When he told the manager of that area I heard him ask about the oil displosal fee. I didn't hear what my guys response was, but I spoke up and said I would pay it. I did need to borrow a 17mm socket and a 3/8 drive socket wrench for the oil drain plug.
Once done I decided I would stop by Home Depot and buy a 3/8 in drive socket set and take the drive, 17, 14, 12mm sockets from it. I also picked up some chain lube while there. Then stopped to fill my tank to prep for tomorrows ride.
Once back at the campsite I prepped my bike gear, lefft some items for the campsite host. And placed a number of my stickers collected so far onto my cases.
I've been reading the gift book. It's very interesting reading about how they lived here a few dacades ago.
Also learned the host at my hostel and two guys I've been talking to are leaving for a 6 week canoe trip into the Norther Brooks range. They leave in the morning and prepped all their food while I sorted my gear.
All that's left is to take a shower and get a good nights sleep. I"m really used to this light all the time now. It makes everyone feel like they have endless time each day.
