Wheels Through Time 2025-04-26
Breakfast at the Iron Horse is a no frills affair, but a great place to make friends. We had a lot of great discussions. I managed to pour my full second coffee into my lap. Luckily the coffee wasn't that hot, and I was still wearing my first set of clothes. So after coffee number two "take two" was poured inside my body, I took a shower and changed into fresh clothes. Which was my plan, even before the coffee accident.
A few discussions later we reorganized gear out of our bike cases and into our tents. Before headed off to the Wheels Through Time Museum. Parts of which have changed since 2023. It was still a great place to see old American bikes in their habitat. Everything is presented very well in many dioramas of period and place.
The town of Magie Valley was busy hosting a tiny truck event. Lots of foot and truck traffic around town. Many colorful trucks of the 1980s. Think low rider Datson air ride suspension, or crazy paint jobs. We didn't seek any out, but saw some on the nearby roads. Getting out of town for lunch just above town at the Twisted Spoke. A really good meal and good company on the deck to talk with.
After lunch we rode a part of the Blue Ridge Parkway back to Cherokee. Then stopped for some gas and supplies before returning to the Iron Horse to hang out at the fire and review ride options on the map table. Some dogs might have been petted while completing this day.
