Anderson IN (7/11/23 Tue)

So I joked with Tucker today about staying last night at the cheese store. I took pictures at night and sunrise, but at any time it would be a Tucker nightmare. As he has an unnatural hatred of cheese.

I rode into Saint Louis to visit my niece. We had a great visit and lunch. No pictures or names as I've tried to preserve people privacy as much as possible. I didn't use any names at all for many blog entries. Then I used a few first names.

Searching the gps today for something odd to visit on my route I found the worlds biggest golf tee. I set course for no other reason than it was a worlds biggest and not far off track. Turns out highway construction limitted highway access to a lot of towns. I got off for gas and couldn't get back onto the highway for maybe 40 miles. Just so happens that the point I could get on was the giant Golf Tee. I have a few pictures and it's just as impressive as you would expect. That is not very.

Just prior to that I saw a sign for the worlds largest wind chimes. That sounded cooler, but I had no idea where it was and given the 93F weather just wasn't in the mood for more searching. After the Tee I saw another oddity that I stopped and took a picture off. I suspect it's not the worlds largest, but I found some big deer antlers to take a photo of. Too big to get a good photo of with end of day lighting. But I took a photo anyway.

I wanted to get far enough northeast to reach a lull in the rain front moving east. The rain sort of dries up someplace around Indianapolis, and I'm northeast of that, so that I hopefully avoid city morning traffic. It also puts me in a spot to get north of the hotest areas to my south. So why did I pick this exact location? It's Anderson Indiana.

Tell my about Anderson Indiana you say. OK, it's the sketchiest place I've ever been to. The hotel I chose looks and may have been a crime scene. I'll upload pictures because I can't even begin to describe the horror of this room. So Tucker, karma has returned to sender with interest. I'll be sleeping in my own sheet and pillow and not using anything here. I've setup my boots infront of the door and pulled the curtain back so once the lights are out I can peer out at the bike. I hope to sleep some and leave here early. I can hardly wait to see my bill for room damages!

So I'm going to upload the pictures and this blog tonight. If I don't make it I hope Anne updates the her blog with the newspaper story. I hope I at least make the local paper. I wonder if I'll be a social media influencer now, since I'm otherwise unemployed?
